enCore Energy is a uranium company, not Encore Wire, and the ticker EU is not the European Union. A 1,550 percent social-mentions lead is not in any page or X post saved for this note, so the tape is the fact: Nasdaq shares closed Monday, 19 October 2026, at $0.7974, down $0.0291, or 3.52 percent, from Friday’s $0.8265. Using the last 90 daily log-returns and 51 sessions through 31 December, the bull is $1.17, the base is $0.61 and the bear is $0.40. A $2.90 street average is not that bull.

The missing fact is the pound that was delivered. In the first half of 2026 enCore sold 485,000 pounds at $70.10 and booked a weighted average cost of $75.54, because 360,000 of those pounds were purchased at $81.85. Texas permits still gate the next wellfields. Dewey Burdock, in South Dakota, is a 2028 development item in the company’s own August release, not a 2026 pound.

Key facts

  • Monday 19 October 2026 official close $0.7974, down $0.0291, or 3.52 percent, from Friday’s $0.8265. Open $0.8261, high $0.8385, low $0.7915, volume 2,010,329. • PriceTargets, saved 20 October 2026, prints a $2.90 average from five analysts over three months, a high of $3.75 and a low of $1.44, on a displayed last price of $0.80. That average is not the bull here.

What just happened, and why the obvious reading is wrong

The obvious reading is a domestic producer near a 52-week low, with a $2.90 average above it, and a desk lead that mentions were up 1,550 percent. Searches on X for 1,550 and 1550 next to the name and the ticker returned no post that says it. No saved web page says it either. The figure is dropped. Monday’s $0.7974 is 3.6 percent above the $0.77 low on Nasdaq’s summary and 78.3 percent below the $3.675 high. The history endpoint returned no rows before 1 June 2026, so the chart starts at that day’s close of $1.6266. From there to Monday is down 51.0 percent. From the 30 September close of $1.08, October through Monday is down 26.2 percent.

Monday’s volume was about 37 percent of average, not a crowded print. The sessions that dominate the sample are older: 14 September, down 15.8 percent from $1.091 to $0.9182, and 13 August, the results day, down 17.4 percent from $1.3687 to $1.1307. August is the largest absolute log-return in the 90 sessions and stays in.

An X post on 15 October said enCore had fallen for seven sessions in a row and was down 27.8 percent. The percentage matches: $1.14 on 6 October to $0.8227 on 15 October. The streak does not. The 9 October and 12 October closes are both $0.9199, so 12 October was unchanged. From 6 October to Monday the decline is 30.1 percent. These are official closes, not the 7:36 a.m. premarket print.

Who is exposed

Nasdaq common shareholders take the first mark. The 20 October summary, pulled while premarket volume was 6,806 shares, listed a market cap of $156,551,606 beside the $0.7974 previous close and did not show a share count, so none is inferred. One X post that morning called a uranium producer near $150 million “an interesting speculation” and wrote of a potential valuation of at least $1 billion. A post is not a bid.

Holders of record on 25 September also received Verdera Energy. The 1 October release says 35,000,000 shares went out on 30 September, with fractional entitlements rounded down. enCore’s remaining holding is 15,029,332 shares, including blocks restricted until 20 November 2026 and 20 February 2027. That is residual exposure to New Mexico in-situ recovery assets. Verdera trades as TSXV: V and OTCQB: VUECF, not as Nasdaq: EU.

Customers sit on the other side of the $70.10. Purchased pounds were 74.2 percent of pounds sold. The unit gap, $75.54 minus $70.10, is $5.44, about $2.64 million on 485,000 pounds, and the release states cost of pounds sold at $36.637 million. Extracted pounds sold carried a cash cost of $38.46. The mined pound can clear the contract price. The purchased pound, at $81.85, cannot.

PriceTargets lists headlines, dated 13 and 14 October 2026, that director Susan Hoxie-Key sold 30,648 shares and that Azarias Capital Management sold 1,943,413 shares. Those are headlines on the saved page, not Form 4s opened here. MarketBeat, on 7 October, reported a chairman’s purchase of 100,000 shares at $0.81 and a Zacks move from strong sell to hold, against a $2.90 average. The purchase is used only as MarketBeat reported it.

What the tape and the primary documents show

The comparison that matters is the close, the half-year pound, and the target being asked to forecast the shares.

enCore Energy daily closes on Nasdaq from 1 June 2026 through Monday 19 October 2026. Earlier dates returned no rows. Lines are the 51-session bull at $1.17, base at $0.61 and bear at $0.40. FinanceFeeds chart, 20 October 2026.

The chart is the uranium company, not a European index. The marker is Monday’s close. Bull $1.17 is a level the summer tape sat above and then fell through. Base $0.61 and bear $0.40 sit under every saved close, which is what a negative drift does when it is run forward. The 13 August log-return of -0.191 is about 3.2 times sigma of 0.06043, and 14 September is -0.172. Both stay in, as does the unchanged $0.9199 pair on 9 and 12 October.

What the company and named people have said

The last full operating statement is 13 August, not this week, and it does not print a new 2026 pound target. It says Alta Mesa Wellfield 3 Extension and Upper Spring Creek permits are “anticipated in Q4-2026,” Wellfield 8 permits by the end of Q1-2027, and Wellfield 7 was “scheduled to cease recovery during Q3-2026.” Waiting-wellfield costs are already expensed. A July workforce cut does not hit the numbers until the third quarter.

William M. Sheriff, executive chair of enCore Energy, is on the 30 June license release, not on a price. He said: “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to congratulate our team for their efforts to secure the 20-year extension to the NRC license.” The same release thanks the NRC and the Permitting Council and says the company stands by commitments to local communities, the state and shareholders. It does not say the project is operating. South Dakota permits are still required.

Rich Little, chief executive of enCore Energy, spoke on 1 October about the spin, not the tape. He said: “Completing the Verdera distribution delivers on our commitment to put value directly in the hands of enCore shareholders.” The same release adds that Verdera now has its own holder base for the New Mexico assets, while enCore stays on South Texas, the South Dakota project and the U.S. pipeline, and keeps a Verdera shareholding. That is a capital-structure point, not a production guide.

The company account posted on 14 October with no figure. The post says: “At enCore Energy, we’re focused on advancing domestic uranium production and supporting America’s nuclear energy future.” It does not mention the close or a permit date. Derrick Dao, who describes himself as chief executive of Union Power Metals, wrote on 15 October: “The part that should sting: the dearest pounds here are the American ones, and they are the ones going backwards. enCore pulled 59% less uranium than a year earlier and cut its 2026 target, blaming permit delays in South Texas.” The August release shows a 58.7 percent extraction drop, from 317,613 pounds to 131,274, and later permit dates. It does not print a revised numeric target. Dao’s “59%” is his rounding. The “cut” is his word.

Where the permits actually sit

Dewey Burdock is a federal permit and still not a pound. On 30 June the NRC renewed SUA-1600 through June 2046. The project is 10,580 acres, 10,340 private and 240 Bureau of Land Management. Powertech USA, the subsidiary, plans in-situ recovery and yellowcake. The release says federal permits are in hand and that the project joined the FAST-41 dashboard on 28 August 2025. That is not state permission to operate.

The 13 August release sets the clock. Dewey Burdock entered South Dakota permitting on 15 June 2026, under review at the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources. “Although we anticipate development in 2028, this is subject to receiving permits from the state.” A 2028 line does not fill a 2026 contract. The same release names Gas Hills in Wyoming as a later pipeline project, with no date and no pound attached. Alta Mesa East drilling continued with three to five rigs, and initial permitting was underway. Drilling is not extraction. The pounds the income statement needs are in South Texas, with permits the company still dates to the fourth quarter of 2026 or the end of the first quarter of 2027. The Cameco note on this desk is about a producer whose realized price cleared its cash cost. enCore’s $70.10 did not clear the cost of the pound it delivered.

Bull, base and bear

The title prices are the last 90 daily log-returns in the saved Nasdaq file, from the 10 June close through the 19 October close, not a street target. Log-return is the natural log of one close divided by the prior close. The mean, mu, is -0.00516691. The sample standard deviation, sigma, dividing by n minus 1, is 0.06043185. N is 51 because the cited close is Monday 19 October 2026 and the horizon is 31 December 2026.

From 20 October the count is the 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd, then the 26th through the 30th: nine sessions. The 31st is a Saturday. November weekdays are 20, because Thursday 26 November, Thanksgiving, is skipped and Friday 27 November counts. December weekdays are 22, because Friday 25 December is skipped and Thursday 24 December counts. Nine plus 20 plus 22 is 51.

Base is $0.7974 times e to the power of N times mu. N times mu is -0.263512, so the unrounded base is $0.6127, which rounds to $0.61. Bull adds 1.5 times sigma times the square root of N. The unrounded print is $1.1705, which rounds to $1.17. Bear subtracts 1.0 times sigma times the square root of N. The unrounded print is $0.3979, which rounds to $0.40. The bull is above the spot, so the no-drift substitute is not used. Versus Monday, $1.17 is 46.7 percent higher, $0.61 is 23.5 percent lower and $0.40 is 49.8 percent lower.

Case Price Versus the $0.7974 close What has to be true
Bull $1.17 46.7 percent higher The last 90 sessions’ drift continues, and the path also reaches 1.5 sample deviations above it over 51 sessions. The 13 August drop stays in the volatility.
Base $0.61 23.5 percent lower Only the drift, N times mu, with no extra shock. Permits can still slip. This is not a model of the pound.
Bear $0.40 49.8 percent lower The same drift, one sample deviation below it. Deliveries that stay tilted toward purchased pounds at $81.85 would be the operating version of a bad path. The formula prices the tape.
Street average, not this formula $2.90 263.7 percent higher Five analysts on PriceTargets, saved 20 October, have to be right over twelve months. A $2.90 print inside 51 sessions would sit outside this band.

The bull keeps the negative drift. The rule drops the drift only when the with-drift bull falls under the spot, and it did not. The $2.90 figure disagrees with that path, in the same way the X-Energy piece separates a reactor story from the band on the shares.

What happens next

By the end of the fourth quarter of 2026 the company has said it anticipates final permits for Wellfield 3 Extension and for Upper Spring Creek. If those permits arrive, extraction can start on wellfields whose costs are already expensed, and later deliveries can use more pounds near a $38 cash cost instead of purchased pounds at $81.85. If the dates slip into 2027, the first-half pattern remains: more pounds sold than extracted, at a delivered cost above the realized price. The chain runs from a permit stamp to the margin.

On 28 to 31 October, Verdera’s account said it will attend the New Orleans Investment Conference and join enCore at a reception on 29 October. The post is a marketing date. A reception does not move a pound and does not clear a Texas permit.

Through 31 December the band is $0.40 to $1.17, base $0.61. The third-quarter report can change the drift, because August said the July cuts show up there, and the saved pages do not date that report. Dewey Burdock stays a 2028 item, and only if South Dakota permits arrive. Constellation’s contracted power deal and Cameco, Constellation, EQT and Vistra are electricity sold under contract. enCore’s reported half year was a company buying uranium to meet its own.

Frequently asked questions

Is a $2.90 street target running ahead of a falling uranium tape?

Yes. The Monday close is $0.7974, the formula bull through 31 December is $1.17, and $2.90 is a five-analyst average on PriceTargets, not a path through the next 51 sessions. The tape from 1 June in the saved file is down 51.0 percent. A target that far above the close is a disagreement with the recent drift, not a description of it.

Is enCore Energy the European Union, or Encore Wire?

No. enCore Energy Corp. is a uranium company listed on Nasdaq as EU and on the TSX Venture Exchange as EU. It extracts uranium by in-situ recovery and datelines its releases from Dallas. Encore Wire is a different company. The European Union is a political body. The chart in this note is the uranium shares.

Why did the shares fall if uranium demand is the story?

Because the delivered pound did not earn its cost. First-half extraction was 131,274 pounds, down 58.7 percent from 317,613, while deliveries were 485,000 pounds at $70.10 against a cost of $75.54. Purchased pounds were the expensive ones, at $81.85. Monday’s 3.52 percent drop was one more session in that decline, on volume below the Nasdaq average.

Did social mentions of the stock rise 1,550 percent?

Not on any source saved for this article. X searches for 1,550 and 1550 next to the name and the ticker returned no such post. No fetched web page stated the figure either. It is left out of the title, the excerpt and the scenario math. A different percentage was not rounded into 1,550 to fill the gap.

What did management actually say this autumn?

On 1 October, chief executive Rich Little said the Verdera distribution put value in shareholders’ hands and that enCore remains focused on South Texas, South Dakota and the U.S. pipeline. On 14 October the company account posted about domestic production and did not mention the share price. The operating numbers in hand are still the 13 August release.

Is the $1.17 bull a price target from an analyst?

No. It is $0.7974 times e to the power of 51 times mu, plus 1.5 times sigma times the square root of 51. Mu is -0.00516691 and sigma is 0.06043185, from the last 90 log-returns, including the 13 August drop. This is not financial advice. The $2.90 figure is someone else’s average, and it is not used as the bull.
